Got kids? 7 Creative Ways to Store Toys in Edmond Apartments

By News

Keeping children’s toys picked up and organized seems like an uphill battle. Apartment space can be limited and with the risk of damaging walls, options are few. With the right tips, tools, and tricks, you can make clean up time simple and tidy.

1. Start with Organizing and Decluttering

The first step in creating a nice space for your children to play is to get rid of toys they aren’t interested in anymore and organizing the ones they play with the most. Not only does this make it easier for your kids to find the toys they want to play with, but it makes clean up easier too.

In order to maintain organization and limit clutter, give your kids a clean up box. When they are picking up toys and don’t know where one is supposed to go, tell them to put them in the box so you can show them where it goes when they’re finished. This idea also helps if the kids are in a hurry to clean up. All the toys left out can go in the crate for them to put away at a later time.

Pro tip: You can also store some toys in a tote elsewhere, and change them out periodically making them feel like their toys are always “new.”

2. Purchase Drawers and Shelving

A wide variety of storage options are available at department stores. Plastic drawer sets come in different sizes and colors to fit your needs.

Utilize labeling and organize the toys into each drawer such as cars, people, animals, and cooking. The drawers are often clear, which opens up the opportunity for personalization and decoration. Use stickers, adhesive drawer liners, or paint to add a touch of class and color.

Another alternative is fabric cubes, which can be placed on bookshelves or other shelving units. These are good for storing bigger items such as barbies, dolls, and action figures.

Use labels to mark on the shelf below what’s in the cube, so your kids can know where to put it back when done playing. If you have a young child who isn’t able to read yet, get creative with labeling and either draw picture labels yourself, or find them in magazines.

3. Make Special Storage for all the Stuffed Animals

Stuffed animals can start to seem like an avalanche ready to overtake your home.

They clutter up the beds and get scattered all over the house. Keep them all in one place by using netting or fabric as a hammock to store them up and off the floor. Thumbtacks work great to secure the fabric to the wall with minimal wall damage.

If this option isn’t ideal, purchase an extra laundry basket and designate it for the stuffed animals.

4. Create Storage Zones in the Designated Play Area

For example, if your child has a kitchen set, use the cupboards for the cups and plates and store the pretend food in the area as well.

Imagine your child’s room with different play “stations” and utilize the storage areas within them.

If your child likes to play dress up, find small adhesive hooks to hang up their favorite capes or dresses in order to create a costume area. Make each part of the room a play area, and use the storage ideas to your advantage.

5. Utilize the Top Shelves of a Closet

Often times the closet gets crammed with things you don’t necessarily use, so it inevitably turns into a forgotten mess. Use the top shelving to neatly store things your child needs permission to play with, such as art supplies, games or play dough.

You can place bookshelves or plastic drawers along the floor to create cubbies for shoes and large toys. This way, there’s still room to hang clothes, along with extra places to store toys neatly.

There are many ways for creating a unique, well organized place for children to play. Storage is easy to find and the best way to keep toys off the ground. The benefits for the children is outstanding, giving them a space to call their own while teaching them the responsibilities of cleaning up.

6. Spice Shelves Aren’t Just Good in the Kitchen

Those shallow shelves can be great for storing night-books near the bed, and they add a touch of art to the room. Since these types of shelves are light, you can install command strips to hang them without doing any damage to the wall.

7. Make use of a Leaning Bookshelf

A bookshelf isn’t just for books. These cleverly designed shelves offer width and height, so you can use totes or bins at the bottom, and store lighter items near the top like stuffed animals. Just make sure your kiddo doesn’t want to monkey their way to the top.

RENTER-FRIENDLY WAYS TO TRANSFORM KITCHENS IN OKC APARTMENTS

By News

Renter-friendly ways to transform kitchens

Finally, you’ve settled into your perfect OKC apartment. However, making it feel like home can be challenging because on one hand you can’t make permanent changes to the space and on the other, you don’t want the apartment to feel cookie cutter.

The kitchen is often the most frequented room in the home by both you and your guests, and you want friends and family to feel invited and comfortable. To help, we’ve outlined some damage-free ways to transform your kitchen space into a place you’re proud to call home all while not risking losing your deposit.

Stick with a Theme

Always start a kitchen transformation with a theme. Following a pattern or a certain color scheme will make your kitchen transformation clean and tasteful.

Your theme can be based on objects or certain colors. Take some of your favorite existing decorations and base a theme from there. If you have a preferred color, try to think of objects and appliances which can be replaced to incorporate your desired result.

Use Adhesive Hooks

One of the more practical tools when aiming for a way to hang decorations without damaging your walls is the use of adhesive hooks.

A wide variety of brands are available which vary in size, color and purpose depending on your specific needs. Some brands offer adhesive pads which can be easily removed and replaced by using the same hook.

With these removable hooks, you can have a place to hang your apron and display stylish potholders to add an element of decor by showing off practical things that can be used as well.

Renter-friendly ways to transform kitchen

Incorporate Your Utensils

If you have brightly colored utensils, or stylish tools that can be incorporated into your kitchen transformation make use of them.

Find a utensil holder which allows them to be shown off instead of being hidden in a drawer, or hang your pots and pans from wall hooks. Same is true for your apron and potholders, as mentioned. Use your adhesive hooks to show them off.

Tasteful gadgets such as timers and spoon holders are another great option to incorporate in your transformation.

Install Removable Backsplash and Tile

These tiles can be found at any home improvement store. You can save time and money by using a small number of new tiles only in certain areas. You would be surprised at how different your kitchen will feel even if only a small chunk of the removable tile is placed behind the stove or around the sink area.

Another benefit is any grease buildup on tiles placed around the stovetop can be easily replaced or removed when moving out.

Renter-friendly ways to transform an apartment

Find Fun Window Treatments

Show off your decorating skills from the outside as well as the inside of your home by placing decorations on your kitchen’s window sill. By doing this, people outside can see them as well.

If your kitchen lacks a window, place a curtain rod above your sink to give the illusion of a window. Window treatments are one of the easiest and most noticeable ways to transform any room in a home.

Search for pre-existing holes where previous tenants might have had curtain rods, this way you minimize new damage and it provides a template for easy installation.

You might be able to use adhesive hooks or magnetic options as well.

Light Up the Room

Battery operated lighting is extremely beneficial in apartments. Without any bulky hardware and installation, it is a cheap alternative way to brighten up dull spaces.

Stylish options are available, and some are made specifically for use under cabinets or countertops. If you are satisfied with how your stove top is decorated leave the overhead light turned on to illuminate the area more.

Adequate lighting in your kitchen gives more visibility to perform tasks and creates a sense of warmth.

Use a Leaning Bookshelf to Create an Open-Shelving Concept

Thinking outside the box can help you create much-needed countertop space and give you a convenient and stylish way to use your appliances as art.

A leaning bookshelf typically has shelving that starts small at the top and gets larger toward the bottom giving it the “leaning-look.”

Store your toaster, coffee maker, and baskets with your favorite coffee blends and tea on it. You can create a similar effect with a small ladder and using it for hand dishtowels.

Choose Quality Decals, Prints or Temporary Wall Paper

You don’t need paint to create an accent wall. Instead, try to find apartment-friendly adhesives for your kitchen. A quick warning though, make sure you choose a trust-worthy brand. The last thing you want is to lose your deposit because the adhesives ripped off the paint when you attempted to remove it.

Incorporate a Plant

A little green can bring a room to life, just don’t forget to water your favorite plant. You can hang plants, or have special shelving to display them.

You can also incorporate a cute hydroponic herb garden, so all your seasonings are always fresh.

Renter renovations

Make Use of the Space Near the Ceiling

If you have a gap of space between the countertops and the ceiling, you can make use of the space by incorporating various sizes of vinegar bottles to incorporate color and draw the eyes upward.

It doesn’t have to be vinegar bottles, it can be something more interesting, colorful or meaningful instead.

Keep It Clean

A clean kitchen is a happy kitchen. If you have a habit of leaving dishes in the sink, then the space will always feel cluttered and dirty. This might be hard at first, especially if you have a large family, but once you make it a habit, you’ll never look back to your old ways.

Sometimes, it also helps to incorporate everyone in the house by establishing the expectation that they should clean their dishes after every use.

Transformation options in your apartment kitchen are practically endless. Try experimenting with unique ideas which show off your interests and personality. Invasive remodeling isn’t necessary to completely transform the look of any room in your home.

With the right amount of attention to detail, you can have great results on a budget while also staying within lease terms by limiting irreversible damage.

SLEEPING IN STYLE: 5 AFFORDABLE HEADBOARD IDEAS FOR TULSA APARTMENTS

By News

A great headboard can transform the look and feel of your bedroom. As the focal point, it has the ability to change the tone of a space almost immediately. While you’ll shop various styles at a furniture company, you also have the option of experimenting with a little DIY.

It’s time to break out your creative flair! You turn your headboard into a conversation piece with old shutters, upholstered panels or tile. Whether you’re looking to elevate your room, make it cozier or incorporate splashes of color, here are six headboard ideas perfect for Tulsa apartments.

 1. Built-In Shelving

This bedroom may appear minimalist at first glance, but the headboard is anything but simple. The designer used three wood panels to draw in the eye and create depth. The shelves serve as nightstands while serving as a display to vases and other art pieces.

2. Dressing Screen

There’s something stately yet mysterious about vintage dressing screens. You can find them at antique markets and stores like Wayfair or Target. Whether it’s custom made or purchased, a dressing screen (also known as an indoor room divider) is a unique way to transform the look of your bedroom.

In this particular shot, the designer uses a wooden screen with an eye-catching metallic finish to add dimension and texture to the neutral palette of the bedding.

3. Storage Blocks

If you’re short on space, utilizing storage blocks is a great way to organize and house your belongings. Here, the designer has gathered several boxes and displayed them in a way that creates a grid-like structure across two walls.

Here, you can see the books, framed photos and collectibles on display while the grid also serves as a backdrop to an otherwise plain beige wall.

4. Canvas Painting

A picture is worth a thousand words and a painting is worth millions. You don’t need to rob Smithsonian to display art of your own. We love how this designer used a large abstract painting to create drama in the space.

If you choose to do this at home, remember to hang the painting high enough so the pillows won’t rest against the canvas (especially if it’s one you made yourself). Even if it’s dry to the touch, the painting can rub off fabrics over time.

5. Canopy

We’ve seen this technique used in various home catalogs (and Pinterest boards). To create this look, extend your headboard with a fabric canopy to transform your bedroom into a dreamy getaway. This particular designer used neutral fabrics with striped accents to contrast with the walls.

Click here to learn how you can achieve the look on your own. You’ll also see this being done with popular brands like Ikea, West Elm and Pottery Barn.

Ready to Put Your DIY Skills to the Test?

These are just a few of many ways you can transform a headboard into a statement piece. From wood blocks to old shutters and upholstered panels, here are 30+ ways you can bring life to your bedroom with a little DIY.

We hope you enjoyed this creative piece! If you have other ideas on decorating Tulsa apartments, we’d love for you to share them with us in the comments below. If you’d like to schedule a tour of one of our Tulsa properties, we invite you to reach out to one of our two properties today!

HOW TO CREATE OFFICE SPACE IN OKC APARTMENTS

By News

In OKC apartments, you might not have the luxury of having a separate room as an office. Limited space is already heightened when there are multiple residents. However, that doesn’t mean you can’t carve out an area for a desk.

A little creativity (and a lot of elbow grease) goes a long way. Whether you’re trying to squeeze in a drafting table or creating a full-blown study, here are some tips for creating a stylish office space in OKC apartments.

Mapping Your Canvas

First, there are three steps to creating a home office space in OKC apartments:

Step 1: Open up some square footage.

Step 2: Identify an unused area of your home.

Step 3: Shop for a small desk (multi-purpose, if possible).

Screen Shot 2018-10-09 at 12.57.56 PM.png

Sometimes, rearranging the furniture in a living room or bedroom can give you the square footage you need for an office. To create an open flow, try placing your sofa or other large furniture along the longest wall. Then, arrange your desk directly in front of the window. This creates a larger center space, preventing any feelings of crowdedness.

Filling Your Space

Next is the second part of the design process. Evaluate your space, assessing its pros and cons. Then, identify the proper size and type of desk you’ll be using. This is where that creative thinking comes into play. Look for unassuming areas of your home that aren’t being utilized. Then, choose one of these desk options to construct a stylish (yet practical) office setup.

WALL-MOUNTED CONSOLE

Who said your desk needed legs? A wall-mounted console is a practical option for OKC apartments. Not only does it provide an ample amount of workspace but the accent chair can also provide extra seating when guests visit. Remember to check with your apartment manager prior to installation.

DEMILUNE TABLE

A demilune table, commonly used for hallways and entryways, is a great small desk option if you’re just working with a laptop. You can place one of these tables behind a sofa or up against a blank wall. When you’re not working, it can serve as a traditional console. And when you need to use the computer, you can pull up a chair or ottoman.

END TABLE

When you’re working with limited space in OKC apartments, it’s wise to enlist the help of multi-functional furniture. Place a small desk next to your sofa in the living room or have it serve double-duty as a nightstand in a bedroom.

CLOSET DESK

Don’t have the square feet to spare? Think outside (or in this case, inside) the box. Utilize a spare closet and transform it into an office. Choose a narrow, low-profile desk and utilize vertical shelving for storing books or a printer. Another benefit of using a closet is once you’re finished working, you can just close the door and slip into relaxation mode.

HOW TO PREPARE OKC APARTMENTS FOR GAME DAY CELEBRATIONS

By News

October is quickly approaching and you know what that means. No, not Halloween – the OKC Thunder season kick-off! Though the first two are away games, that doesn’t mean you and your friends can’t party in style. In today’s blog, we’ll be sharing some ways to prepare OKC apartments for the game day celebrations!

1. The Decorations

First, you’ll need to set the scene. Pump up your guests for game day with some themed invitations. Or, if you’re trying to conserve paper, texting a Russell Westbrook meme to your friends will suffice. Next, start covering your apartment in vibrant oranges and blues. We love this OKC Thunder pack by Party City. Turn your snack table into a court and guests will double dribble towards the dip!

2. The Food

Onto the good stuff! No one can say no to a delicious OKC Thunder cake. Let alone, this scoreboard cookie bouquet. However, if you’re craving sugar but not the fondant, then opt for this peanut butter basketball dip instead. And, feel free to get creative with your party foods! Simple snacks like goldfish, cheese puffs and orange slices satisfy guests of all appetites.

3. The Libations

Sticking with our orange and blue palette, drinks like Sunkist, orange Gatorade and Capri Sun are great choices for all ages. If your game day party is adults only, a Thunder Margarita is a great way to quench your guests’ thirst during the big game.

4. The Take-Home’s

You don’t have to spend hundreds on party favors. Instead, opt for cost-effective items that are entertaining yet practical. Choose a container like this OKC Thunder lunch bag and fill it with fun things like bumper stickers, lanyards and key chains. These NBA store items are all under $10!

6 TECH DEVICES TO MODERNIZE NORMAN APARTMENTS

By News

Smart Apartment

Are you an early adopter of all things technology? Good news, you don’t have to buy a fancy house to have the best gadgets for making your life easier. Even better news, it’s not too expensive to have smart technology in your apartment.

All of these devices range between $100 and $300 (not including the smart TV but we list an affordable alternative).

Amazon Echo

1. Amazon Alexa & Echo: Personal Assistant at Your Service

Alexa is one of the newest innovations by Amazon, and it is designed to be somewhat like a smart house hub. By connecting your Phillips Hue lights, your TV and other devices in your Norman apartment, you can quickly transform a traditional apartment into something of the future.

From setting the alarm to ordering groceries, Alexa can streamline regular home tasks. You can use it as a Bluetooth speaker, a shopping list and a weather alert system. You can also ask Alexa to make a phone call for you or set a reminder for later.

If you’re bored or just want to show off how smart your Norman apartment is, then just ask Alexa “what’s on your mind.” You won’t be disappointed.

Thermostat

2. Nest: Your Eye in the Sky  & A Learning Thermostat

Nest Labs produces a variety of smart tech for your Norman apartment from security cameras to thermostats.

The smart thermostat will turn itself off or down when your away from the home. It comes with its own app, which means you can control the temperature from anywhere. There is a learning option as well, which means it will adjust itself according to your preferences. The biggest benefit is it can save you money on your utility bill.

The security camera offers 24/7 live video, 3-hour snapshot history, night vision, and push notifications if it senses movement or noise when you’re away from your home. It also has a speaker (so you can yell no at your dog when he starts chewing on your favorite throw pillow).

Nest also offers a video doorbell. Just like the security camera, you can access live video from anywhere when you’re logged into your account or through the app. It’s perfect when you’re waiting on a package or a repairman.

You can also find alarms, door locks and smoke detectors made by Nest, all of which have some SMART tech features.

SMART TV

3. Apple or Samsung TV

Smart TVs are a great feature in any Norman apartment like Apple TV or Samsung TV.  They often offer access to Netflix, Hulu and other subscription services straight from the TV rather than having to connect a laptop or other device.

Quick Hack: Chromecast is a cheaper way to have smart TV features on a “traditional” tv.

Smart coffee

4. Coffee on Demand

Now your favorite brew can be ready before your feet hit the floor first thing in the morning. These wifi-connected devices allow you to schedule a cup of joe the night before. With app connectivity, you can choose the coffee strength and start the coffee maker from any room in the house.

Some apps allow you to choose how fast it brews and whether or not you need the pot on for an extra 30 minutes or longer. Sometimes, the coffee maker app will send you a push notification right when it’s ready.

Vacuum

5. Smart Vacuum Does the Work for You

You really should vacuum daily if you want your rug to last its expected lifetime. But seriously, who has time for that?

Smart vacuums are changing the way families complete their daily chores. Much like the coffee maker, these come with special apps that allow you to schedule cleanings, turn it on or off, and some even have cameras so you can check on your pets during the day to see what kind of mischief they could be causing.

Smart Fridge

6. Smart Refrigerator

Most apartments will supply a refrigerator, so it’s typically not something you’ll need to buy. However, with a few small tweaks, you can turn your old ice box into a functional smart feature in your kitchen.

Some of the coolest features of a smart refrigerator is automatic grocery ordering. If you’re lucky enough to live in a town with an Amazon Fresh (Norman is not one of them), you can use an Amazon Dash to either scan barcodes to reorder goods or simply say the product into the device. (Alexa can also do this chore for you).

For about $10, you can use an OXO Crisper Filter to help keep your fresh fruits and vegetables fresh for longer, just like a smart refrigerator.

The most obvious feature of a smart refrigerator is the functional screen that can access the internet on one of the doors. You could use some magnets and a small tablet to create similar features like playing the newest Tasty recipe or ordering supplies.

If you’re looking for a new home in Norman, we have plenty of beautiful apartments to choose from in the community including:

How to Find an Apartment Near Tulsa Union Schools JULY 24, 2018

By News

Tulsa Union is a public school district located in southeast Tulsa and northwest Broken Arrow. The eighth largest district in Oklahoma, Tulsa Union has approximately 16,000 students pre-kindergarten through 12th grade. The district is known for its dynamic academic programs, remarkable facilities and various community partnerships.

Because of this, families are flocking to the area, seeking out a home or apartment near Tulsa Union schools. In today’s blog, we’ll be highlighting two of our apartment communities that are located nearby and sharing some other benefits you might not have known about these properties.

Cascades at Southern Hills Northstar Properties.png

Cascades at Southern Hills

1818 E. 71ST STREET

Cascades at Southern Hills is located in the Tulsa Hills area near the Riverside and Brookside districts. In addition to Tulsa Union schools, this property is minutes away from Creek Turnpike and ORU (which is fantastic if you have any commuters in the family).

One of our favorite things about Cascades at Southern Hills is its suburban charm. It can feel overwhelming living in Tulsa with all the traffic and construction. However, even though the property is minutes from the turnpike, it’s nestled in a comfortable neighborhood – striking that perfect balance of small-town and city living.

As far as community features go, Cascades at Southern Hills fits the bill. Not only is it gated (which is a huge bonus for safety) but it also features athletic courts, a 24-hour fitness center, sparkling swimming pool and dog park. And, because of its location, you can quickly access bus routes during school months or nearby river parks during summer.

Coventry Park Northstar Properties.png

Coventry Park

8120 E. 63RD PLACE

If you have older kids, you may consider checking out Coventry Park instead. It’s located in the Tulsa Union School District, but just minutes away from Riverside Drive and the Woodland Hills Mall. It provides quick access to Creek Turnpike (similar to Cascades) but is overall a slightly busier area.

Coventry Park holds no shortage of amenities either. This property offers covered parking, high-speed internet access and on-site maintenance in addition to its fitness center, pet park and swimming pool.

Coventry Park units range from 500 to 835 square feet. As you walk in, the hardwood flooring and renovated interiors immediately steal your attention. And, as a pet-friendly community, you’ll have every opportunity to mix and mingle outdoors with your fellow neighbors.

It Takes a Village

Regardless of the property you choose, the most important aspect to remember while shopping for an apartment near Tulsa Union schools is that it feels like home. Moving multiple times is stressful – not to mention, expensive. Take time in your decision and reach out to us with any questions you have.

If you’d like a personal tour of one (or both) of these properties, we encourage you to reach out to our leasing team! We’d love the opportunity to show you around.

HOW TO EXPAND SPACE IN THESE CHISHOLM CREEK RENTALS

How to Expand Space in These Chisholm Creek Rentals.jpg

Living in Oklahoma City, you might find yourself short on living space. Making a living room accommodate large furniture, a dining area and all your belongings is no easy task. However, there are ways to visually expand your space — increasing functionality while making it much more inviting.

The key to managing a small apartment all boils down to tricking the eye into perceiving more space. You can do this by employing three interior design strategies: scale, light and movement. Whether you just moved in or have rented your space for years, a small apartment doesn’t have to be cramped. Try these 10 simple tricks to start maximizing the square footage you do have.

Bring furniture away from the wall.

It may seem counter-intuitive but resting your furniture against walls doesn’t guarantee a larger room. Moving your sofa a few inches away will create some breathing room, giving the appearance of more space. If you’re worried about storage, place a narrow console behind the sofa to store away cords and other items.

*Pro-Tip: Try angling your bed to create movement in your bedroom. It also helps the space feel more relaxing.

Emphasize the vertical.

Emphasizing the vertical space in your apartment increases the sense of openness, enhancing movement and flow. Consider adding a towing bookcase, a series of floating shelves or something as simple as a hanging farmhouse lightbulb fixture to expand the look of your ceilings.

Emphasize the horizontal.

Incorporating low-profile furniture pieces is one of the easiest ways to make a room look more expansive. However, we’re not restricting you to ground-sitting pieces. In fact, think mid-century modern — which is both low and leggy. Narrow furniture legs make your furniture more dynamic, creating flow and causing the eye to travel around a room.

Consider lighter color palettes.

Dark colors aren’t a bad thing but can make your apartment feel smaller. We recommend sticking with a neutral palette of whites, creams, grays and blues to help reflect light and make the room feel airy.

Use multifunctional furniture.

Multifunctional furniture is a lifesaver in small apartments and is perhaps the best way to streamline a room. Think about it — clutter gives the illusion of lacked space. An ottoman with built-in storage is fantastic for tucking away toys, books or blankets.

Or, if you’re trying to create space in your dining room, opt for an expandable table or one with drop leaves. This allows you to minimize its square footage when it isn’t in use and expand it whenever you have guests over.

Leverage the power of mirrors.

Adding a mirror is a great way to create a sense of openness, reflect light and views of the space. While a wall-to-wall one might be overkill, placing a simple full-length mirror against a wall is a classic way to add sophistication to a space. You can also incorporate smaller mirrors into an existing gallery wall. Another fun idea we’ve seen is placing a landscape orientation mirror above a mantel and layering vintage frames of various sizes.

Incorporate reflective pieces.

When you’re trying to make a small apartment feel bigger, try and incorporate as many reflective pieces as possible. Materials like lucite, chrome or gold pair well with matte finishes and neutral palettes. Lucite is particularly helpful in living rooms. It can provide the same functionality as a traditional coffee table without the added visual weight of a solid material.

Let in more natural light.

To expand the look of any room, make sure you’re not blocking out the windows. Not only does natural light make your space look bigger, the vitamin D can boost your mood. Avoid heavy window treatments and exchange for translucent shades or curtains.  Hanging your curtains a little higher than the windows themselves will also help draw the eye upward.

Emphasize pathways for foot traffic.

When you’re laying out a small room, it’s natural to think you’re maximizing the space by pushing all the furniture pieces to the edges of the room. However, this can cause some issues as corners cause you to bump into things and trip. Try grouping the furniture to a section of the room that way guests can easily pass through. If you’re trying to distinguish multiple areas in a room, use various sizes of rugs to visually “assign” them.

Incorporate statement pieces.

Even though you may be working with neutrals, that doesn’t mean your apartment has to look like it came straight out of a Pottery Barn magazine. If you enjoy pops of color, go for it! However, incorporate it into focus pieces like artwork, textiles, glassware and accessories. Statement pieces are fantastic for creating drama and vibrancy.

THE LAST NOTE TO REMEMBER.

Remember, the more items you have in a room, the more cluttered it will feel. Avoid displaying too many knickknacks. Narrow them down to your favorites and group them using the Rule of Three. The same goes for artwork, concentrate framed pieces on one or two walls and avoid overwhelming patterns.
